Dar El Bacha Museum Marrakech
Dar El Bacha Museum in Marrakech, also known as the Musée des Confluences, brings together palace architecture, art and cultural heritage in the medina. Visit to appreciate decorated interiors, explore courtyard spaces and discover exhibitions connecting Morocco with cultures around the world.
History of Dar El Bacha Palace
Dar El Bacha was formerly the residence of Thami El Glaoui, the Pasha of Marrakech. Following restoration by the Fondation Nationale des Musées, the palace opened as a museum in 2017.
Today, the building offers visitors an opportunity to explore a historic residence while discovering its new role as a cultural destination.
Architecture, Courtyards and Moroccan Craftsmanship
Look closely at the palace’s colourful zellige mosaics, carved wood and intricate plaster decoration. Its courtyards, fountains and traditional salons reveal the skill of Moroccan craftspeople.
Take time to appreciate both the larger spaces and smaller decorative details as you move through the palace.
Exhibitions at the Museum of Confluences
The museum explores cultural diversity and exchanges between civilisations. Its collections and temporary exhibitions offer different perspectives on art, heritage and Moroccan identity.
